HOW PROJECT WORK HELPED ME TO LIVE THROUGH THE CORONA PANDEMIC
With the outbreak of Covid-19, in-person communication became impossible thus leaving many older people in the solitude of their homes without much contact with family or friends. However, surprisingly, it was my participation in one international project that helped me to live through the corona pandemic and made my life considerably more pleasant and satisfying. The project management came up with the idea to continue our communication via videoconferencing which invited people to contribute in any way they want. Our videoconferences were based on presentations of various cultural events and musical performances of the participants themselves who came from the EU and even from all over the World! Our online sessions were very pleasant for me and I participated with great desire and listened to all participants with keen interest.
In the beginning, I participated with a presentation of my personality, the place where I live and my activities in the “Union of Pensioners-Ruse Region”. Of great interest to me was the joint celebration of EASTER. It included the presentation of traditions in different countries around the world!
I contributed to the programme by presenting my Easter culinary products in these live shows! My next participation was with a song by the great Bulgarian composer, lyricist and world-famous singer Emil Dimitrov, and the lyrics was translated for the listeners in German and English! Then I took part in a session where we talked about our hobbies. I presented the way of making tablecloths with a hoop and showed my finished products, which impressed the participants! After that I showed the technique for arranging paintings with diamond checkers and demonstrated finished diamond tapestries! For me, the presentations of all participants were really interesting and the most emotional thing was that together we could sing and speak not only English but also the languages of all other participants in the conference calls! The emotion was great and now we have memories to keep forever!
The restrictions during the pandemic were really stressful for many people but it was also an opportunity to get to know and find new friends via our videoconferences. Other people accepted the compulsory stay at home as an opportunity to relax, to devote time to their personal hobbies and engage in enjoyable activities around the house! As the English say, “Every cloud has a silver lining.” My family members observed all the restrictions and protective measures with regard to Covid 19 and so far, fortunately for my family and friends, there is nobody sick or infected with this virus and I hope this will be the case until the end of the pandemic!

КАК РАБОТАТА ПО ПРОЕКТА МИ ПОМОГНА ДА ПРЕЖИВЕЯ КОРОНА ПАНДЕМИЯТА
С избухването на Covid-19 комуникацията между хората стана невъзможна, като по този начин остави много възрастни хора в уединението на домовете си, без много контакти със семейството или приятелите. Изненадващо обаче е, че участието ми в един международен проект ми помогна да преживея корона пандемията и направи живота ми значително по-приятен и удовлетворителен. Ръководството на проекта излезе с идеята да продължим комуникацията си чрез видеоконферентна връзка. Нашите видеоконференции бяха базирани на презентации на различни културни събития и музикални изпълнения на участниците от ЕС и дори от цял свят! Тези срещи бяха много приятни за мен и аз участвах с огромно желание и слушах всички участници с голям интерес.
В началото участвах с презентация на моята личност, мястото, където живея и моите дейности в Съюза на пенсионерите-област Русе. Голям интерес за мен беше съвместният празник Великден. Той включваше представяне на великденските традиции в различни страни по света!
Допринесох за програмата, като представих моите великденски кулинарни продукти! Следващото ми участие беше с песен на големия български композитор, лирик и световноизвестен певец Емил Димитров, а текстовете бяха преведени за слушателите на немски и английски! Участвах и в сесия, на която говорихме за нашите хобита. Представих начина на изработка на покривки с обръч и показах готовите си продукти, които впечатлиха участниците! След това показах техниката за подреждане на картини с диамантени пулове и демонстрирах готови диамантени гоблени.
За мен презентациите на всички участници бяха наистина интересни и най-емоционалното беше, че заедно можем да пеем и говорим не само на английски, но и на езиците на всички останали участници в конференцията! Емоцията беше голяма и сега имам спомени, които ще запазя завинаги!
Ограниченията по време на пандемията бяха наистина стресиращи за много хора, но също така бяха възможност да се запознаят и да намерят нови приятели чрез нашите видеоконференции. Някои хора приеха задължителния престой у дома като възможност да се отпуснат, да отделят време за личните си хобита и да се занимават с приятни занимания около къщата! Както казват англичаните, „Всеки облак има сребърна подплата.“
Членовете на моето семейство спазиха всички ограничения и защитни мерки по отношение на Covid 19 и, досега, за щастие на моето семейство и приятели, няма никой болен или заразен с този вирус и се надявам това да бъде така до края на пандемията!
