Description
Dancing connects people. The “pravo Horo” is uncomplicated, the steps are easy and can be learned by everyone. Everyone holds hands – old, young, poor, rich, man, woman, sick, healthy. They dance in a circle, which is supposed to represent infinity. One dances for joy or to drive away sorrow. There is something meditative, something magical, something integrative. It makes no difference where you come from, what religion you have, how you are dressed, whether you are educated or illiterate. This cultural treasure connects people beyond regions and countries. It is danced and appreciated everywhere in the Balkans and beyond. It has many names, in Bulgaria it is called “pravo Horo” meaning “straight dance”. In other languages it is called differently, but the effect is always the same – smiling faces, joy, exuberant mood, people meeting and getting to know each other.
Intention
When I was still a child and I could not even walk, I already took part on the arm of my parents or grandparents. The “Horo” is a part of me and my identity and I want to show this to the world and keep it for my children. The special thing about this dance is that it is so uncomplicated and therefore open for everyone who gives himself to the rhythm of the music.

Tanzen verbindet Menschen. Das „pravo Horo“ ist unkompliziert, die Schritte einfach und für jeden zu erlernen. Alle halten sich an den Händen – alt, jung, arm, reich, Mann, Frau, krank, gesund. Es wird im Kreis oder Halbkreis getanzt, was die Unendlichkeit darstellen soll. Man tanzt aus Freude oder um Kummer zu vertreiben. Es hat etwas Meditatives, etwas Magisches, etwas Integratives. Es macht keinen Unterschied, wo man herkommt, welche Religion man hat, wie man gekleidet ist, ob man gebildet ist oder ein*e Analphabet*in. Dieser Kulturschatz verbindet Menschen jenseits von Regionen und Ländern. Er wird überall auf dem Balkan und auch darüber hinaus getanzt und geschätzt. Er hat viele Namen, in Bulgarien heißt er „pravo Horo“, also der „geradeaus Tanz“, in anderen Sprachen heißt er anders. Aber die Wirkung ist immer gleich – lachende Gesichter, Freude, ausgelassene Stimmung, Menschen, die sich begegnen und einander kennenlernen.
Absicht
Als ich noch ein Kind war und noch nicht mal laufen konnte, habe ich schon auf dem Arm von meinen Eltern oder Großeltern daran teilgenommen. Das „Horo“ ist ein Teil von mir und meiner Identität und dies möchte ich der Welt zeigen und für meine Kinder bewahren.
Die Besonderheit dieses Tanzes ist, dass er so unkompliziert ist und dadurch für jeden offen, der sich dem Rhythmus der Musik hingibt.

Танцуването свързва хората. „Правото хоро“ е просто, стъпките лесни за научаване за всички. Хората се държат за ръце – стари и млади, бедни и богати, мъже и жени, болни и здрави. Танцува се в кръг или полукръг, който символизира безкрайност. Танцува се от радост или за да се прогоните мъката. Хорото има нещо медитативно, нещо магическо, нещо интегративно. Няма значение откъде идваш, каква религия имаш, как си облечен, дали си образован или неграмотен човек. Това културно съкровище свързва хората отвъд региони и страни. Танцува се и се цени по целия Балкан и извън него. Този танц има много имена, в България се нарича “право хоро”. Ефектът обаче е винаги един и същ – усмихнати лица, радост, буйно настроение, хора, които се срещат и опознават.
намерение
Когато бях още дете и дори не можех да ходя, участвах в хорото на ръцете на моите родители или баби и дядовци. Хорото е част от мен и моята идентичност и искам да покажа това на света и да го запазя за децата си.
Особеността на този танц е, че е толкова лесен и следователно отворен за всеки, който е готов да се отдаде на ритъма на музиката.
