This story begins back in the 1970s (pictures 1 and 2). Then my grandfather decided to start an incredible adventure. That adventure lived on for 50 long years (picture 3). He was engaged in beekeeping and honey production.
The bee, as one of the most important factors in today’s world, gave him a lot of pleasure. He successfully presented his work throughout Serbia, won many awards and commendations for extraordinary work, and I would especially like to single out the bronze medal at the state competition for the storage and production of bee products. I have always been surrounded by these interesting little creatures, honey and beekeeping love. I used every free moment to go to the apiary with my grandfather, where I would learn something new. Of course, bee stings are an inevitable part of all that, but as my grandfather would say, “It’s just a bee kiss”.
The best way to keep beekeeping is through education, conversation with associations and learning from those most experienced beekeepers who nurture this beautiful honey tradition.
Today, 50 years later, the story continues. The honey adventure is flowing with a new young flow. Unfortunately, this is the last picture we managed to make together (picture 5).

Ova priča počinje davne 1970. godine (slike1 i 2). Tada je moj deka odlučio da pokrene jednu neverovatnu avanturu. Ta avantura zivela je dugih 50. godina (slika 3). Bavio se pčelarstvom i proizvodnjom meda.
Pčela kao jedan od najbitnijih faktora današnjeg sveta prožila mu je mnogo zadovoljstva. Uspešno je predstavljao svoj zanat kroz čitavu Srbiju, osvajao brojne nagrade i pohvale za izvanredan trud i rad, a posebno bih izdvojio bronzanu medalju na državnom takmičenju za čuvanje i proizvodnju pčelinjih proizvoda (slika 4). Oduvek sam bio okruzen tim zanimljivim malim bićima, medom i pčelarskom ljubavlju. Svaki slobodan trenutak iskoristio sam da odem sa dedom na pčelinjak, gde bih saznao svakoga trena nešto novo. Naravno ubodi pčela su neizbežan deo svega toga, ali kako bi moj deka rekao, “To je samo pčelinji poljubac”.
Najbolji način za očuvanje pčelarenja jeste edukacijom, razgovorom sa udruženjima i učenje od onih najiskusnijih pčelara koji neguju ovu prelepu mednu tradiciju.
Danas, 50. godina kasnije priča se nastavlja. Medna avantura teče novim mladim tokom. Nazalost, ovo je poslednja slika koju smo uspeli zajedno da napravimo (slika 5).

Diese Geschichte beginnt in den 1970er Jahren (Bilder 1 und 2). Damals beschloss mein Großvater ein erstaunliches Abenteuer zu beginnen. Dieses Abenteuer dauerte 50 lange Jahre an (Bild 3). Er beschäftigte sich mit der Bienenzucht und der Honigproduktion.
Die Biene, als einer der wichtigsten Aspekte der heutigen Welt, hat ihm viel Freude bereitet. Er präsentierte seine Arbeit erfolgreich in ganz Serbien, gewann viele Preise und Ehrungen für außergewöhnliche Arbeit, besonders möchte ich die Bronzemedaille vom staatlichen Wettbewerb für die die Lagerung und Herstellung von Imkererzeugnissen hervorheben. Ich war schon immer von diesen interessanten kleinen Kreaturen umgeben, ich liebe Honig und die Imkerei. Ich nutzte jede freie Minute, um mit meinem Großvater zum Bienenstand zu gehen um dort etwas Neues zu lernen. Natürlich gehören Bienenstiche unvermeidlich dazu, aber wie mein Großvater zu sagen pflegte: “Es ist nur ein Bienenkuss”.
Der beste Weg, die Imkerei zu erhalten, ist die Bildung, Gespräche mit Verbänden und das Lernen von den erfahrensten Imkern, die diese wunderbare Honigtradition pflegen.
Heute, 50 Jahre später, geht die Geschichte weiter. Das Honigabenteuer fließt mit einem neuen jungen Strom. Leider ist dies das letzte Bild, das wir gemeinsam machen konnten (Bild 5).
