Description

Kilim making has been the main craft and branch of industry, and it is a way for women (within the rules of making) to express their creativity and diligence. It is believed that people started making kilims in Pirot 500 years ago and that the authors who wrote about their travels recognized their unique beauty. What makes kilms unique is that they are made of wool of the sheep “pramenka” from Stara planina whose fleece is characterized by sharp, thin and silky hair, which makes kilims so light people can carry them while traveling. Once there were 5 thousand women who made kilims but nowadays the number has decreased to a few dozen.

The special feautre about kilims is that both sides are identical, they are densely woven, and neither light nor water passes through them, they do not “keep” dust and it is said they last for 100 years but after 50 years you reverse it on the other side.

Opis

Kornjača, označava dug i srećan život, venci -stalno zdravlje i srećuu, gugutke – radost, vraško koleno -čuva na daljinu, bomba – muška snaga…
