Description
The Easter flag symbolizes the victory of Jesus over death. Both representations of the risen Christ and the sacrificial lamb (symbol of the innocent crucified one) usually contain such an Easter flag. An old custom is to embroider a small version of the Easter flag. It is rather a small standard that decorates the home-made Easter lamb at Easter. Traditionally, the Easter lamb is blessed in the church on the Easter Vigil – and the pride of every family was of course when the lamb adorned an elaborately embroidered flag and sat on a suitably embroidered doily in the consecration basket. Typical motifs for the Easter flag are the “Easter lamb with flag”, the “Cross of Jesus” and “IHS” – traditionally embroidered in red with cross-stitch, but other colours are also possible.
Intention
I got to know these Easter flags only through my move to Ulm and thus to a Catholic area. The production of the flags was shown to me about 20 years ago by the mother of my oldest friend in Ulm. From her I also got the traditional embroidery patterns. Of course I embroidered the first flags for myself and my family – and now I embroider them for people who are very dear to me. For me, embroidering and giving these Easter flags as a present belongs to the Easter season just as baking cookies belongs to Christmas time.
I like the Easter flags because they make you realize again and again what Easter really means… besides all the Easter bunnies, Easter sweets and Easter trash. And giving away these little “treasures” to very special people in my life, gives me great joy, because then you see that not only children’s eyes can shine.
Beschreibung
Die Osterfahne symbolisiert den Sieg Jesu Christi über den Tod. Sowohl Darstellungen des auferstandenen Christus als auch das Opferlamm (Symbol für den schuldlos Gekreuzigten) enthalten meist eine solche Osterfahne.
Ein alter Brauch ist das Sticken einer kleinen Version der Osterfahne. Es ist eher eine kleine Standarte, die an Ostern das selbstgebackene Osterlamm schmückt. Traditionell wird das so geschmückte Osterlamm in der Osternacht in der Kirche gesegnet – und der Stolz einer jeden Familie war natürlich, wenn das Lamm eine kunstvoll gestickte Fahne zierte und auf einem passend bestickten Deckchen im Weihekorb saß. Typische Motive für die Osterfahne sind das „Osterlamm mit Fahne“, das „Kreuz Jesu“ und „IHS“, das Nomen sacrum für Jesus – traditionell in Rot mit Kreuzstich gestickt, andere Farben sind allerdings auch möglich.
Absicht
Ich habe diese Osterfähnchen erst durch meinen Zuzug nach Ulm und damit in eine bis zur Reformation weitestgehend katholische Gegend kennengelernt. Die Herstellung der Fähnchen habe ich vor ca. 20 Jahren von der Mutter meiner ältesten Ulmer Freundin gezeigt bekommen. Von ihr bekam ich auch die traditionellen Stickvorlagen. Die ersten Fähnchen habe ich natürlich für mich und meine Familie gestickt – und jetzt sticke ich sie für Menschen, die mir sehr am Herzen liegen. Das Sticken und Verschenken dieser Osterfähnchen gehört für mich zur Osterzeit wie das Plätzchenbacken zur Weihnachtszeit.
Ich mag die Osterfahnen, denn durch sie wird einem immer wieder bewusst, was Ostern wirklich bedeutet… neben all den Osterhasen, Ostersüßigkeiten und dem Osterkitsch!
Und das Verschenken dieser kleinen „Schätze“ an ganz besondere Menschen in meinem Leben macht mir große Freude, denn dann sieht man, dass nicht nur Kinderaugen leuchten können!

Steagul de Paște simbolizează victoria lui Isus asupra morții. Ambele reprezentări – invierea lui Hristos și jertfa mielului (simbolul celui nevinovat răstignit) conțin de obicei un astfel de steag de Paște. Obiceiul stravechi spune să brodați o versiune mică a steagului de Paști cu care sa se decoreze mielul de Paste, care l-a randul lui este asezat intr-un cos impletit din nuiele.Motivele tipice pentru drapelul de Paște sunt „Crucea lui Isus” și „IHS” – în mod tradițional brodate în roșu , dar sunt posibile și alte culori.
Intenţie
Istoria acestor steaguri de Paște am cunoscut-o cand m-am mutat în Ulm, iar felul cum se confectioneaza mi-a fost arătată acum aproximativ 20 de ani de mama celui mai vechi prieten al meu din Ulm. De la ea am primit și modelele tradiționale de broderie. Desigur că am brodat primele steaguri pentru mine și familia mea, iar acum le brodez si pentru cei care îmi sunt foarte dragi. Pentru mine, brodarea și dăruirea acestor steaguri aparține sezonului de Paște, la fel cum coacerea prajiturilor si fursecurilor aparțin perioadei Crăciunului.
Mie, personal imi plac aceste steaguri pentru ca aduc in casele oamenilor spiritul sarbatorilor pascale. Dăruirea acestor mici „comori” persoanelor speciale din viața mea îmi oferă o mare bucurie, pentru că de-abia atunci vad că nu doar ochii copiilor pot străluci.

Великденското знаме символизира победата на Исус Христос над смъртта. И двете изображения на възкръсналия Христос и жертвеното агне (символ на невинния разпнат) обикновено съдържат такова великденско знаме. Стар обичай е да се бродира малка версия на великденското знаме. Това по-скоро е малка задължителна украса на домашно приготвеното великденско агне. По традиция великденското агне се благославя в църквата на Великденското бдение. И гордостта на всяко семейство, разбира се, е украсата на агнешкото със сложно бродирано знаме и подходящо бродирана салфетка в оброчната кошница. Типични мотиви за великденското знаме са „великденско агне със знаме“, „Исусов кръст“ и „IHS“ – традиционно бродирани в червено с кръст, но са възможни и други цветове.
Намерение
Научих за тези великденски знамена, едва когато се преместих в Улм, район, който до голяма степен е бил католически до Реформацията. Какво е било производството на знамена до преди около 20 години ми беше показано от майката на приятеля ми от Улм. От нея получих и традиционните модели за бродиране. Разбира се, първите знамена бродирах за себе си и за семейството си. Сега ги бродирам за хора, които са много близо до сърцето ми. За мен бродирането и раздаването на тези малки великденски знаменца е част от Великден, точно както печенето на бисквитки по Коледа.
Харесвам великденските знамена, защото те карат отново и отново да осъзнаваш какво всъщност означава Великден … освен всички великденски зайчета, великденски сладки и великденския кич!
И раздаването на тези малки „съкровища“ на много специални хора в моя живот ми доставя голяма удоволствие, защото тогава виждам, че не само детските очи могат да блестят.
