Whoever had the opportunity to be a guest at a celebration, or merriment on the slopes of the Biosphere Reserve, Mount Golija, could not avoid the custom of drinking three glasses of Serbian plum brandy cold „Rakia“ with special toasts for each glass. Drinking the “third one” (the third glass of Rakia) and saying a toast is an act of special honor. On Golija, this custom is practiced on all occasions: during the prayer ceremony before lunch during the Family Saint – Slava (Serb.), during the engagement, but also during the ceremony of sending young men to the army (in Yugoslavia there was an obligation to serve military service for all male residents).
“Third one” is the third toast. The host or toastmaster (the man who says the toast, usually a mature man, the host of the festival) pours three glasses of rakia or wine and says a characteristic toast.
In the village of Dobri Do, the first glass was raised for “glory and law of God”, followed by Orthodox prayers.
The second glass is raised by the host, who is at the head of the table. He toasts “for the holy cross“ to the person at the other end of the table. The cross is symbolically formed with a toast at the feast table.
The third glass – the special one – is drunk “for the youth” by the youngest male member among the guests.

Prevod na engleski: This tradition symbolises ancient Christian tradition of the people from this beautiful region of Serbia, which is connected with celebration of Holy Trinity and symbols of Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Orthodox religion. During my work in editing monography of this area I had opportunity to see that tradition of “Third one” is living cultural intangible heritage, that represent spirituality and hospitality of the people inhabited in that area. Those customs compaginated with natural beauties represents big potential for sustainable tourism development.

Ko god je imao prilike da bude gost na nekom veućem slavlju, ili veselju na obroncima Rezervata biosfere, planine Golije, nije mogao da zaobiđe običaj ispijanja „treće rakije“ i zdrvice vezane za ovaj ritual. „Treća“ predstavlja zdravicu posebne časti. Karakteristično je da se od „dizanja u slavu“, tj. molitvenog obreda pred slavski ručak, pa do veridbe i ispraćaja u vojsku, na Goliji neguje ovaj običaj. „Treća“ je treća zdravica, domaćin ili zdravičar (čovek koji zdravicu izgovara, najčešće muškarac zrele dobi, domaćin svetkovine) sipa tri čaše rekije ili vina, ako je slava u pitanju i izgovara karakterističnu zdravicu. U selu Dobri Do prva čaša podizala se za „slave i zakona“, pri tom bi se ređale molitve u crkvenom duhu.. Drugu čašu, domaćin svečano postavljen u čelo stola izgovarao „za krsta i krstnog imena“ , tada se nazdravlja onom na dnu stola i zdravicom se za slavskom trpezom simbolički obrazuje krst. Treća ćaša pije se „za omladinu“tada se nazdravlja i ispija je do kraja najmlađi muški član među zvanicama.
Namera
Ova tradicija predstavlja drevna hrišćansku tradiciju naroda na ovom području povezanu sa slavljem Svete trojice i simbolikom sina, oca i svetog duha u pravoslavlju. Radeci na monografiji o Rezervatu biosfere Golija- Studenica, imao sam priliku da se uverim da je ova tradicija živa nematerijalna kulturna baština, koja simbolizuje duhovnost ali i gostoljubivost naroda koji u ovim krajevima živi. Ovi običaji uz netaknutu prirodu i prirodne lepote predstavljaju veliki potencijal za razvoj održivog turizma
Beschreibung
Wer die Gelegenheit hatte, bei einer größeren Feier oder einem Fest im Biosphärenreservat Golija-Studencia an den Hängen des Berges Golija zu Gast zu sein, konnte sich dem Brauch, den “dritten” Rakija (Pflaumenschnaps) zu trinken, schwer enziehen. Der “Dritte” ist ein Trinkspruch zu besonderen Ehren, d.h. ein Gebetsritus vor dem Slawa-Mittagessen (dem Mittagessen zum Patronatstag), in der heutigen Zeit bei besonderen Anlässen wie Verlobung oder Verabschiedung zum Eintritt in die Armee. “Der Dritte” ist der dritte Trinkspruch des Gastgebers (ein meist reifer Mann), der drei Gläser Schnaps (oder seltener Wein) einschenkt und einen charakteristischen Trinkspruch ausspricht. Im Dorf Dobri Do wurde das erste Glas “zum Ruhm der Gesetze” erhoben, und dann folgten die üblichen religiösen Gebete. Der zweite Trinkspruch wird demjenigen gewidmet, der am unteren Ende des Tisches steht, und am Tisch des Kreuzes wird symbolisch ein Kreuz gemacht.
Die dritte Klasse wird für “die Jugend” getrunken und wird vom jüngsten männlichen Mitglied unter den Gästen angestoßen.

Prevod na engleski: Diese Tradition symbolisiert die uralte christliche Tradition der Menschen in dieser schönen Region Serbiens. Sie ist mit der Feier der Heiligen Dreifaltigkeit und den Symbolen von Vater, Sohn und Heiligem Geist in der orthodoxen Religion verbunden. Während meiner Arbeit an der Monografie dieser Region hatte ich Gelegenheit zu sehen, dass die Tradition des “Dritten” ein lebendiges immaterielles Kulturerbe ist, das die Spiritualität und Gastfreundschaft der Menschen in dieser Region repräsentiert. Diese Bräuche in Verbindung mit den Naturschönheiten stellen ein großes Potenzial für eine nachhaltige Tourismusentwicklung dar.
